However, this system has significant limitations: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group card-block\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kilimoproject.itk.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/kilimo_icon_securise.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1627\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"checks-list wp-block-list\"><li>Low <strong>adaptability to demand<\/strong>: subsidized fertilizers are not always adapted to the pedoclimatic context, to production needs, to the period of demand and to access to the distribution site.<\/li><li><strong>Illegal behavior<\/strong>: A third of the inputs would be diverted for illegal resale, without counting the \u201cbribes\u201d making up part of the subsidy system.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p> The KILIMO project should make it possible to better manage input needs so that they reach the farmer, and ensure that they are correctly used by the latter: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group card-block\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kilimoproject.itk.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/kilimo_icon_boost.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1628\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"checks-list wp-block-list\"><li>For example, to create a subsidy system based on simulations or on actual plot sizes rather than a fixed dose per farmer.<\/li><li>By <strong>indicating the optimal<\/strong> fertilizer input dates that will enhance yields (play on the input dates in order to produce more with the same amount of nitrogen) to <strong>motivate growers to transform fertilizers into valuable additional yield<\/strong> rather than reselling them.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-white-color has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#263238\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center has-white-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-officers-extension-network\"> Officers extension network<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color\"> The \u201cExtension Officers\u201d support the growers throughout the season. However, their small number compared to the number of farmers limits the scope of their actions. Thanks to the FieldSim application, eTumba wants to optimize their working time. They benefit from a tool to facilitate their network of farmers that they can easily contact (thanks to telephone numbers and the automatic sending of SMS messages) and that they can easily advise thanks to the indicators available in the application. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color\"> The Extension Officers also have a controlling role in the management of inputs. They will validate the effective start of production of corn plots to avoid false declarations and the unnecessary sending of fertilizers. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"gradient-text has-luminous-vivid-amber-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-digitization-and-better-visibility-of-production\">2.
